I think I have skeeter syndrome but who knows. Anyways, this was honestly the best $10 that I have ever spent. I saw some wonky reviews with crazy pictures uploaded and they talked about how terrible and painful this tool is. If that’s the case then they’re using it wrong- READ THE DIRECTIONS- it says to hold it for 10-20 seconds. I am terribly reactive to mosquito bites and this thing has saved my life. I went outside with my husband and in the course of about 15 minutes I had close to 30 bites on my legs. My whole body was shaking and it was just terrible. I went inside and used The Bug Bite thing and it took care of every last bite I had. The only complaint I have is that it’s a challenge to use on certain areas of the feet and ankles. I’ve found though that if you flip it to the stinger side (the bottom cap comes off) then it works a bit better for those hard to reach areas. I have since found that if I put one drop of oregano oil in my water (only once a day because the stuff is nasty) it reduces the amount of bites I get. I drank 16 oz of water with 2 drops in it and it kept me bite free for 2 days. The 2 bites I did get were treated with The Bug Bite thing and I was good to go!
I got a splinter and ended up with a pretty deep infection in the top joint of my finger and the doctors didn't want to cut it out because of the concentration of nerves and ligaments in the area. They gave me an antibacterial ointment and told me that if it didn't work that I may need to see a hand surgeon (I wish I was kidding). I soaked the finger, squeezed the pus, and applied the ointment every few hours for two days and saw no changes. I couldn't bend my finger and the top half of it was red with a thick yellow halo around the wound. Then I remembered I had this thing and figured it couldn't hurt to see if it could do a better job of ridding the wound of pus and opening it up enough to get the ointment inside. So, I soaked, used the narrow end of the nozzle, and applied moderate consistent suction, then applied the ointment to the dialated wound before it shrank back down. After a day the infection radius shrunk by half - after two days the infection was gone. It has been a week and the scab finally fell out. The hole is pretty gross still but it is going to be fine in another week or so. I am so glad I had this and thought to use it for this purpose - it sucks!
I saw this on Shark Tank a good while back and let it go for then. I got a bite, maybe a flee being spring and a flee or spider bite gets the size of a good mosquito bite but itches for 4-5 days. I ordered this and it was delivered that day. We read how to use it and decided even maybe too late, but it did suck some clear liquid out. Since then I'm not itching anymore and I mean one of those itches that you cannot scratch with only two arms. Here's a day after use. It was huge. It's the tiny things that seem to hurt the worst sometimes. Good news is I have Christmas and Birthday gifts now.
This is definitely one of the most useful and worthwhile items I've ever purchased, and it's downright the best I've ever gotten in terms of bug bite relief! I've used sprays, salves, candles, citronella, even those cord bracelets, all to try to keep insects from biting me, but nothing has ever worked. When it came to relieving my bites, nothing ever worked either, outside of covering each bite up with a Bandaid, which I'm allergic to, so I tried not to do that too often (just allergic to the adhesive bit). So I decided to try this, and I am IN LOVE with it. We use it whenever we have a sting or bite, and it always works well. Last night, we were at a friend's house to help him make a pond in his yard, and I was just eaten up by the insects outside; these bites were itchy, inflamed, and some even had a yellow discharge or blood-- so awful!! Upon getting home, we used the Bug Bite Thing on all of the bites (both of my legs, my torso, and my arms are grotesquely covered), and I am no longer itchy, the inflammation is down, and the discharge was literally sucked out of my skin. I am so happy!! Just wanted to put my thoughts on the product out there, because I really do think it is such a handy tool for our medicine cabinet (though I think we might need a couple to keep in my bag and the car)!!
